The Autumnal wardrobe edit
My top fashion picks from my favourite shops to cosplay like a walking fallen leaf.
I am, and always will be, a late spring/early summer kind of girl. Despite this, autumn is actually my favourite season to dress for, for the simple reason that the temperature is cool enough to let you play with layers (and let’s be honest: us girls who have a…shall we say conflicting relationship with our bodies LOVE a layer), but not so cold that you have to go full onion mode, only to sweat like a pig in the tube.
I always get excited this time of the year (actually the excitement starts at the end of summer), window shopping the new autumn/winter collections. Even as a kid (or should I say teenager), I would crave winter clothes in the middle of summer.
This past month or so has been pure eye candy, with lots of earthy hues (including my all-time favourite olive green) that reflect the colours seen in nature at the moment. It’s also been an exercise in restraint, one that I have mostly failed.
I have collected below all the pieces I have my eye on currently (although the list seems to be ever-expanding), divided into chromatic themes. Some are actually part of my wardrobe, most of them are on my wishlist.
Before we delve in, a quick note for the love of transparency: the lists contain affiliate links, which means that if you purchase an item via that link, I get a small commission at no extra cost to you. Some of these items have been gifted to me by generous brands (a privilege I am still not completely used to), but none of the above means I love these items any less: they are pieces I would love to buy for myself (and in some cases, I did), and they all come from shops I genuinely love and buy from.
Olive Green & Khaki
I am delighted that my favourite colour is having such a big moment, so much so that it seems ubiquitous wherever I look. Such a chic and timeless colour! Speaking of ubiquitous things – another leitmotif of this season seems to be gilets/vests (quilted or otherwise). I can’t be certain, but I don’t think I ever owned a gilet/vest but for some reason, I now feel the compelling impulse to get myself at least four or five.
Burgundy & terracotta
Burgundy seems to be the IT colour at the moment, possibly even more so than Olive green. Whilst I feel like terracotta has been on the scene for a while, this deep, almost purple shade of red seems to have popped up out of nowhere this season, and I am loving it.
A couple of notes on this board, which I see as being basically two outfits: the terracotta one on the left (no.01,03 and 07) and the burgundy one on the right (all the remaining numbers). The quilted reversible gilet from TBCO (no.2) is particularly tempting, and the fact that I think it is also very well-priced makes it all the more dangerous.

Beige & mustard
By this point, I am mentally calculating how many side jobs I would need to find to be able to afford every single one of these pieces as I am genuinely obsessed with all of them. That Toast jumper’s colour (no. 6) is particularly yummy and I think it would be a very flattering/uplifting shade to wear!

Neutrals
Last but most certainly not least, we have our neutrals, which arguably are a staple all year round. I am this close to getting myself no.1, so I can lounge around my home in style. I have also a bit of a coat fetish, so got myself a no.3 in a semi-impulse buy. No.6 is the sweetest Gilet, and I love the open cut (which is meant to be worn at the back; check out the link for more pics). Beaumont Organic, one of my favourite brands, kindly gifted me no.2, and so I am now finally a proud owner of a quilted vest. Another new brand I discovered recently is Ma+Lin – their linen shirts are just adorable and would be perfect under a sleeveless dress (or my afore-mentioned vest).

I immediately forwarded this to my daughter, as all the colours are so her. This is a gorgeous round up.
A gorgeous edit, Martina! I love dressing for Autumn as well, especially for the colour palette. Olive green and burgundy will always have my heart! Have a lovely weekend ❤️
