A guide to Lewes, East Sussex
This quaint British town packs in a ton of shopping opportunities (especially when it comes to Antiques), contemporary art destinations and gourmet stops.
Whether, like me, you are looking for an escape from the “Big Smoke”, or are simply (also like me) a purveyor of pretty British towns, make sure you add Lewes to your list of places to visit. A mere hour and a half train ride from London Bridge, Lewes will charm you with its many, many antique shops, hilly views and fascinating art.
As a paying subscriber, at the end of the article you will also be able to access my personalised Google map, which – like all of my Google maps – is a true labour of love: not only have I organised all entries with a clear icon+colour-coding system, but I have also been painstakingly adding my photos to most of the attractions, so you can see at a glance what the fuss is about. If you have been toying with the idea of upgrading, I’m hoping my trip-planning nerdiness will tip you over the edge.
